He had learned the sound of her footsteps.
It was because he had a trained ear, really; when you spend years upon years of running away from the same girl, you tend to realize what sounds mean to book it before it's too late. She took heavy steps when she ran; she took steps much too heavy for a girl of her stature, actually. She sounded like a stampede of elephants coming his way, which was nearly bizarre because the rosette only had two feet and he was sure she couldn't weigh that much.
He was half expecting her to come barreling at him with arms wide open and tackle him into the grass. It was certainly something she would have done a few years back. He was weary upon her arrival but quickly noted that since she had an equally bushed looking Cream by the wrist as was currently tugging her along like a rag doll it was unlikely that she'd be knocking him over with the bunny in tow. Hopefully Amy knew better than to start a hedgepile.
CravingShe really didn't know how hard he had it. It must have blown her mind why he did the things he did. To anyone else it would have seamed illogical; it didn't make sense why he ran when he felt the way that he did about her. When he craved her the way he did, when he needed her very scent to keep going, to keep breathing... and he ran, well, it just didn't add up.
And to anyone else, they would have thought that he did it because he was cruel. But they weren't him. They didn't think the way he did, and they weren't effected by her intoxicating touch the way he was. Just by the small shudders she gave when she was chilled, by the giggles she emitted when she was nervous or giddy; it made him crazy. It made him so high with emotions and he was scared witless. He was terrified of feeling so many things at once that he rationalized the best way to deal with it- the best way to stray away from this euphoric state- was to run.
Nobody had any idea how when she blinked he watched her

He felt so depressed...
I don’t think depressed is even the word. Sonic shook his head miserably, casting his gaze down at the floor. He imagined the ground transforming into a deep, dark sea that spun like a spinning top, with him drowning within it’s strong current. All he wanted right now was to be sucked away into the neverending darkness of a whirlpool. He felt that nothing could save him. Nothing except one thing...
All he needed was her smile.
All he needed was to gaze down at her wonderful orbs, and for her to look back at his just to feel complete again.
She was the one pulling him back at the end of the string, rescuing him from himself. From the darkness inside his heart that threatened to take over.
A knock vibrated through the door just then, and Sonic barely acknowledged the sound.
“Sonic?” A soft voice called from the other side. It was her. He didn’t need to hear her voice

Chapter 1: Freedom Taken
That was it wasn't it? Enjoying the wind rush through his quills, seeing all the passing objects just fade into a blur, knowing that he could leave them all behind, feeling almost transcendent of his environment... this was what Sonic the Hedgehog lived for. This freedom, this liberty to just run his heart out, and the ability to go anywhere and do absolutely anything that he wanted, when he wanted to. In a word, it was thrilling.
He cherished every day, every second that he got to run. Sometimes he would just let his mind wander where it would as his feet pumped at ridiculous speeds, and let his instincts carry him to wherever he ended up. It didn't matter all that much where he went; Sonic had very few commitments or appointments with anything. Sure, if Eggman attacked, he'd show up in the nick of time to stop him, and every few hours he would stop to rest or chow down on a chili dog, but for the most part, Sonic wa

A blue 9 year old hedgehog ran away from his village containing the tears within him. He kept on running and running until he couldn't run anymore. He found himself on the top of a hill where a tall cherry blossom tree resided at. He thought it was a good place to cry, no one was around, he was alone.
He curled up in a small ball and cried. It was odd for him to cry but he needed to this to this time. He didn't even want to think about it yet it just kept coming back to him, haunting him...
"Dad...why...?" he whispered to himself. His voice had cracked from him crying so much.
He wanted to stay there forever mourning, but he knew he could only stay for awhile. He had been there for some time and hadn't even calmed down even a bit. Why did this have to happen to him?

(SonAmy One Shot)
Sonic ran out of that high school as fast as he could, school was out and summer was about to begin.
"WHOOHOO! SUMMER!" he shouted, junior year was over and next year he'd be a senior along with a few of his friends.
He walked though the courtyard that had gotten empty rather fast and saw his friends waiting for him. His lifelong friends Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Cream, Rouge, and Amy Rose in their school outfits.
"Hey guys!" he shouted.
They all turned around and saw him.
"Hey Sonic!" Tails shouted.
Sonic ran over to his friends and saw that they were even more excited than he was.
"So Sonic! Mind giving me advice about going into softmore year?" Tails asked.
"Didn't you ask Shadow or Knuckles? What about Amy? She and I were in the same class" he said.
"Yeah but they won't tell me and Amy is...well...she's a girl." he replied.
Shadow and Knuckles rolled their eyes.
